Tobacco Cessation Programs
Need to kick the habit? Free tobacco cessation support through Quit for Life is offered to all team members and spouses/domestic partners who are enrolled in any Grainger medical plan.
You can get
$450 off your annual cost for medical coverage if you do not use tobacco. If you and/or your spouse/domestic partner
do use tobacco, you can get the $450 annual tobacco incentive if all covered tobacco users
complete (not just enroll in) the tobacco cessation program by
June 30, 2021. (“All covered tobacco users” means you and/or your spouse/domestic partner, depending on your coverage. It does not include any covered children who use tobacco.)
How it works
- When you enroll for benefits as new team member or during Annual Enrollment, you will have the opportunity to indicate that you and/or your spouse/partner is a tobacco user interested in the Quit for Life cessation program to receive the $450 incentive off medical premiums.
- If you indicate you are interested, you will begin receiving the incentive premium rates starting January 1 or when your coverage begins.
- Watch for a letter from Grainger and a call from Optum to get you enrolled in Quit for Life.
- Anyone who has not completed the program by
June 30, 2021 will have the tobacco incentive removed and begin paying tobacco-user premium rates starting in July.
Team members who are tobacco users and who do not attest and indicate their interest during enrollment can still enroll in the Quit for Life program anytime, but they will not be eligible to earn the incentive until the next Annual Enrollment period.
Note: Benefits may differ for team members outside the continental U.S.
