Increases to Health Care Premiums*
DEPENDING ON THE COVERAGE YOU ELECT, payroll contributions for team members with full-time
benefits will increase by $1.08 – $24.04 per month for medical coverage. Dental coverage contributions
will increase by $0.18-$2.43 per month. There will be no increase for vision coverage. The broad ranges
reflect our varied plan options as well as the number of family members you choose to cover.
Part-time team members scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for full-time
benefits at the same costs.
Payroll contributions for team members with part-time benefits will increase by $9.49-$44.33 per month
for medical coverage, and dental coverage will be offered for the first time. There will be no increase for
vision coverage.
*Applies to plans administered by Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield (BCBSIL) and United Healthcare (UHC), which cover the
continental U.S. and Alaska. Does not apply to other non-continental U.S. coverage.
Tobacco Surcharge for medical coverage
IF, DURING ENROLLMENT, YOU AND/OR YOUR COVERED SPOUSE/DOMESTIC PARTNER ATTEST TO
USING TOBACCO, there will be a $450 annual surcharge added to your medical premium. If one of you
has started using tobacco in the past year, you must attest to that change.
The surcharge will be discontinued once all covered adult tobacco users (team member and/or
spouse/domestic partner) complete the Quit for Life tobacco cessation program.
In prior years, if you didn’t use tobacco, you received a reduction in your medical plan payroll
contribution. In 2022, this will change to a surcharge only for tobacco users.
Dental Coverage for Team Members with Part-Time Benefits
DENTAL CARE is an important part of overall physical health. We’re pleased to announce that team
members with part-time benefits will now be able to enroll themselves and their eligible dependents in
dental coverage. Monthly contributions will range $22.19 – $120.86, depending on your coverage
choices.
This new coverage applies to part-time team members who are scheduled to work at least 20 but less
than 30 hours per week.
Medical Plan Out-of-Network Coverage*
IN THE SILVER AND GOLD MEDICAL PLANS, the deductible and out-of-pocket maximum will be
increased, but only if you go out-of-network. It’s wise to check first to be sure all the doctors and other
services related to a procedure (radiology, lab/pathology, anesthesiology) are in the network.
Deductible: $3,500 single/$7,000 family
Out-of-Pocket Maximum: $8,000 single/$14,700 family
Deductible: $3,000 single/$6,000 family
Out-of-Pocket Maximum: $6,000 single/$12,000 family

Life Insurance and AD&D Coverage
BASIC LIFE INSURANCE AND ACCIDENTAL DEATH & DISMEMBERMENT COVERAGE will change from 1.5
times pay to 1 times pay, to align with coverage provided by other large employers. Remember that, in
addition to basic coverage, Grainger offers additional optional coverage for life insurance and AD&D
insurance at group rates. Be sure review all your insurance options
Optional Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability Costs
OPTIONAL LIFE: Costs will decrease by 10% for team members and by 20% for spouse/domestic
partners.
LTD: Our insurance carrier has informed us that team member costs for long-term disability coverage
will increase by approximately 15% because of a significant increase in claims over the past few years.
Enrollment Is Now Optional
IF YOU DON’T ENROLL FOR 2022 BENEFITS, you will keep the same medical coverage as in 2021. (This is
new. In prior years, if you didn’t enroll, your medical coverage defaulted to the Silver medical plan.)
The coverage tier (which is the number of family members you cover) will remain the same, as well. If
you are adding or removing family members from coverage for 2022, remember to do so during annual
enrollment.
However, you must enroll if you need to attest to tobacco use for either you or your spouse/domestic partner, or if you want to contribute to your HSA or FSA, change medical/dental plans or add/drop dependents from your coverage or enroll in NortonLifeLock and other voluntary benefits.
