Rewarding Team Members for Performance

Grainger’s compensation philosophy is to attract, retain and engage talented people who will deliver strong performance, help the company achieve its business strategies and create shareholder value. We have a pay for performance culture—our belief is that strong individual performance should collectively lead to strong company performance.

Our compensation programs are designed to ensure two things:
  • Team members performing comparable jobs have comparable pay opportunities.
  • There is an appropriate relationship between job responsibilities, the relative market value of the job, the team member’s performance in the job and their rate of pay.
We administer our compensation programs through a few different vehicles, including:
  • Base Pay
  • Management Incentive Program (MIP)
  • Distribution Center Achievement Award (DCAA)
  • Sales Incentive Programs
  • Long-Term Incentive Program (LTIP)
  • Cash Awards
