Grainger team members do an exceptional job in working together to serve customers and communities. It is no wonder that Grainger was recently certified as a Great Place to Work!

Core to our success and winning culture is recognition – in person and online! We celebrate those who deliver great performance, exemplify our seven Principles, and attain service anniversary milestones.

Grainger Stars, our online company-wide recognitionprogram, has three components:

  • Star Shout Outs: Team members can recognize each other or a project team anytime with online badges and eCards, and others can add to it.
  • Star Points:  Team members who go above and beyond can receive points, a rewards-based recognition.  
  • Star Milestones:
    • Team members (full time and part time) celebrating 1, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25-year milestones are awarded points in recognition of their contributions
    • On milestone anniversaries and on the three-year anniversary, a personalized webpage is set up on Grainger Stars where team members and leaders can post well wishes.
    • People leaders receive advance email notifications and physical mailings, including certificates, to help celebrate their direct report’s milestone in person and online.
  • Points, received because of a Star Points recognition or a Star Milestone, can be redeemed on the Grainger Stars marketplace, which has more than 6 million awards to choose from!
    • Points never expire, even after leaving Grainger.

Dear Team Member,

The last 18 months have pulled us in all sorts of directions and presented several new challenges. Many of you have had to adapt to an ever-changing lifestyle that includes homeschooling kids, working overtime, taking care of loved ones, and worrying about finances. And while I’m proud to say you’ve continued to provide exceptional customer service despite these challenges, it’s just as important to put the same attention on yourself.
